ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a mixed media artist working at the intersection of nature, colour, and the human psyche. My creative practice is deeply informed by thirty years as an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist and a childhood in the Caribbean where my love for the Arts and Nature was born. These life experiences deeply influence my creative expression and make painting an act of intuition, curiosity, and unfolding discovery.

I work primarily with acrylics, inks, and collage, colour always being my central focus. My paintings have been exhibited and shown across London over the past several years, and as I establish my practice in Portugal, I remain closely tied to the London art scene, dividing my creative life between the two.

Learning and exploring are definitely not separate from the work. They are the work! By remaining true to myself and to the moment, I create and express myself intuitively using colour, mark making and found material.
