Hello and Welcome!
I am Donna, a Psychotherapist and an Artist creating a safe space for you to connect, explore creative expression and heal through art making and play.
Who I am
I am Donna Loiola — a Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Artist, with thirty years spent doing work I still find genuinely meaningful.
For most of that time, I've sat with people through the parts of life that are hardest to sit with — grief, change, the quiet unravelling that sometimes happens before things get better. Alongside that clinical work, I've always made things: painted, collaged, worked with colour and mark and mess, not as a hobby set apart from the "real" work, but as something that runs alongside it and, more often than I expected, feeds it.
These days my work lives in two places — psychologically and quite literally. I split my time between London and Portugal's Silver Coast, and I hold two arms of practice that, to me, have always felt like one thing wearing two hats: Psychotherapy and Clinical Supervision, and creative wellbeing in Studio Loiola where I offer short courses and guided sessions that use art-making as a way back to yourself, no experience or talent required.
What I do
If you're here for Therapy, you'll find an integrative approach shaped by three decades of clinical experience — space to be heard, without a fixed formula for what healing has to look like.
If you're here as a fellow practitioner seeking supervision, you'll find someone who takes that role seriously — a space to think, be challenged gently, and be supported in the work you're doing with others.
And if you're here for creative wellbeing, you'll find something a little different in tone but not in spirit: short, guided sessions in painting, collage, and mark-making, built on the belief that creativity isn't a talent some people have and others don't — it's a way of processing, playing, and returning to yourself that's available to absolutely everyone.
Why this page matters
I built this site to hold all of that honestly, in one place, rather than presenting a version of myself that's split into pieces depending on who's looking. The therapist and the artist aren't in competition — they've always informed each other. This page exists so you can see the whole picture, and choose the door that's actually right for you, whether that's a therapy room, a supervision session, or an hour with a paintbrush and no plan.
Wherever you have landed from, I welcome you here.
It is my intention to help others connect and create!

“Creativity lives in the moments we stop trying and start allowing.”
